About the role
Honcho Nigeria Limited is a diversified company with a technology and marketing focus. This is a fully remote, work-from-home role for a macOS MDM & Deployment QA Engineer based in Nigeria, collaborating with a U.S.-based engineering team.
The role is a hands-on technical QA position focused on testing and validating a macOS application across different OS versions, Mac hardware configurations, and enterprise device-management environments. You will configure and test managed Mac environments, validate installations and upgrades, investigate OS and policy-related failures, and provide engineers with the technical evidence needed to reproduce and resolve issues.
You will regularly work with macOS devices, MDM consoles, configuration profiles, deployment packages, system logs, scripts, automation, and application builds to understand exactly how the software behaves under different enterprise conditions.

Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain macOS test environments using enterprise MDM platforms, with primary emphasis on Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune, plus Kandji and Mosyle.
- Enroll and manage Mac test devices through MDM; create and validate configuration profiles and deployment policies.
- Test differences between MDM platforms and configurations; validate application behavior on newly enrolled and existing managed devices.
- Reproduce customer MDM configurations when investigating deployment problems and identify whether failures originate from the application, MDM configuration, packaging, permissions, or macOS itself.
- Own testing of the complete macOS application deployment lifecycle: fresh installations, MDM-based installations, updates, upgrades, removal, reinstallation, enrollment/re-enrollment, macOS upgrades with app installed, and failed/interrupted deployments.
- Investigate macOS security, privacy, permissions, and system-management behavior including PPPC, TCC, Full Disk Access, configuration profiles, background items, launch agents/daemons, system extensions, code signing, notarization, and file permissions.
- Execute a risk-based compatibility matrix across supported macOS versions, Apple silicon and Intel Macs, clean and configured devices, managed and unmanaged devices, different MDM platforms, and different installation/upgrade paths.
- Turn unusual deployment or compatibility problems into precise, reproducible engineering issues with exact reproduction steps, environment details, logs, and diagnostic evidence.
- Automate repetitive portions of compatibility and deployment testing using scripting for environment validation, installation/removal, device-state verification, log collection, configuration verification, regression testing, and result comparison.
- Work directly with engineering to ensure release quality.
