Responsibilities
- Run each integration from start to finish, owning the technical side of merchant onboarding to shorten time to first live transaction.
- Scope the work by running technical kick-off calls, checking merchant requirements against product capabilities, and recommending the right setup (e.g., direct API or hosted checkout).
- Test integrations in the test environment before live keys, including 3DS card payments, mobile money payments, signature-checked webhooks, and pending payments.
- Clear go-live checks: business verification (KYB) and daily system checks for account setup and fees, fixing discrepancies posted to Jira.
- Keep detailed records in Jira, documenting actions, next steps, and blockers, and communicate with merchants via Slack or email.
- Explain Flutterwave's REST APIs to merchant developers, including card tokenisation, recurring payments, and split payments.
- Diagnose failures by reading API requests/responses and checking logs in internal tools and Datadog, distinguishing merchant-side errors from platform issues.
- Ensure merchants confirm payments with server-to-server calls, not relying solely on browser redirects.
- Raise blockers in Jira with clear ownership and escalation paths.
- Support live incidents by providing evidence to Customer Reliability Engineering for P1-P4 tickets.
- Track payment success rates per rail and work with Global Expansion and Payment Partnerships to improve.
- Hand over merchants to Technical Account Managers once stable, with complete Jira records.
- Report documentation gaps to the Developer Experience team.
