About the role
MTN Nigeria, part of the MTN Group and Africa's leading cellular telecommunications company, is seeking an Engineer - Solution Design to join its Information Technology Division, reporting to the Manager - Connectivity Solutions. The role leads project technical teams to deliver consumer and enterprise solutions that meet MTNN business requirements, working with Engineering and delivery teams to design and integrate IT/IS solutions in adherence to architecture and design specifications.

Responsibilities
- Develop designs that support the functional requirements of business application projects, including conceptual, high-level, and detailed design specifications for build, implementation, and support.
- Code applications in accordance with good security coding practices to ensure applications are free of common coding vulnerabilities.
- Create and execute/coordinate technical test plans for application change, new deployment, and upgrades.
- Participate in transitions of the application or technical architecture components to testers.
- Fix defects and performance problems discovered in testing.
- Work effectively with dependent teams such as Vendors, Service Management, Security, Operations, and Architecture & Engineering teams.
- Ensure effective access controls to supported systems.
