About the role

The Team Lead, Systems Administration is a senior individual contributor who tactically leads the IT infrastructure team, combining deep technical expertise in networking, cloud infrastructure, security, and automation with leadership capability to coach a team, enforce SOPs, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and coach a team of Systems Administrators, ensuring output quality and SOP adherence
- Manage team workload, prioritise tasks, and ensure SLA compliance across infrastructure functions
- Conduct 1:1s, deliver performance feedback, and develop team members' technical skills
- Design and enforce team workflows and escalation paths
- Own team-level metrics: uptime (99.9%+), ticket SLAs, incident response times, end-user satisfaction
- Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers and Proxmox virtualisation
- Administer Windows Server, Linux systems, and hybrid cloud infrastructures
- Design and manage cloud network environments across GCP, OCI, and Azure, including VPCs, subnets, peering, firewall rules
- Administer BGP routing policies, virtual routers, and F5 load balancers
- Configure and troubleshoot enterprise networking infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs)
- Implement network security protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and segmentation
- Manage DNS, DHCP, Directory as a Service, and core network services
- Manage and evaluate AI tools, build automation workflows using n8n
- Administer xCALLY PBX platform including call routing, IVR, queue management
- Develop automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and use IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Build monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios
- Implement security policies, access controls, endpoint security, patch management, PAM
- Manage SSO, MFA, identity governance; lead incident response and RCA
