About the role
eHealth Africa improves healthcare by building reliable health information management systems. The Software Engineering Department designs and maintains digital health solutions such as eHA Care, LoMIS, and PlanField, collaborating with partners to optimize tools like EMID and VaxTrac. The team includes software developers, QA, UI/UX, DevOps, and AI engineers building secure, scalable systems for public health. The Senior Coordinator, UI/UX Design leads end-to-end design and development of user experiences and interfaces across eHealth Africa’s digital products, ensuring seamless, accessible, and compelling interactions aligned with organizational goals and diverse user needs.

Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of user experience and interface design across web and mobile platforms.
- Translate user needs and product objectives into wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design specifications.
- Maintain and evolve a scalable design system aligned with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and cross-platform consistency.
- Integrate usability and accessibility principles into each stage of the product lifecycle, from concept through deployment.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to shape user journeys and define product touchpoints.
- Provide UX leadership in sprint planning, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment and feasibility.
- Coordinate with front-end developers and quality assurance teams to implement, test, and validate UI/UX elements throughout development cycles.
- Deliver responsive, high-fidelity mockups, design assets, and implementation-ready specifications using tools like Figma.
- Create and maintain documentation, including style guides, design flows, and usability insights to support team continuity.
- Monitor product performance post-launch and continuously iterate on design based on user feedback, behavioral data, and evolving trends.
