About the role
SabiRecruit is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join a team working on next-generation AI and conversational systems. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based software components, building scalable backend systems for AI and language-model applications, and contributing to AI model evaluation and performance improvement workflows.
This is a remote contract position based in Nigeria, offering NGN 600,000 - 900,000 monthly. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers and engineers.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable Java-based software components.
- Build scalable backend systems that support AI and language-model applications.
- Contribute to AI model evaluation and performance improvement workflows.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses using defined quality and technical criteria.
- Provide clear technical explanations and feedback on evaluation results.
- Support supervised fine-tuning (SFT) and related AI training activities where required.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and other technical contributors on AI projects.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.
- Develop secure, stable, readable, and maintainable code.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of new product features.
