About the role
We're looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to help build and maintain the systems that power Chowdeck. You'll work closely with experienced engineers to develop features, solve technical problems, and learn how to build reliable software at scale. Our tech stack consists of NodeJS, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Google Cloud, and other technologies. You'll have the opportunity to work on products used daily by customers, vendors, and riders while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers. We're looking for curious, empathetic, and kind people who are excited to grow their careers in a fast-growing technology company that cares deeply about personal and professional development.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Assist in debugging and resolving production issues across services.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, and other teams to deliver new features.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback into your work.
- Monitor application performance and help investigate system issues.
- Contribute to technical documentation and internal tooling.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices across software development, testing, and deployment.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of APIs, services, and backend systems.
- Continuously improve your technical skills and understanding of Chowdeck's systems and products.
