About the role
Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC) is one of the retail electricity distribution companies licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, created following the unbundling and privatization of the state-owned Power Holding Company of Nigeria. The IT Auditor will conduct independent audits of the organization's information systems, applications, infrastructure, and technology processes, assessing IT controls, identifying vulnerabilities and risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Responsibilities
- Plan and execute IT audits in accordance with approved audit plans and professional standards.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of IT general controls, application controls, and cybersecurity controls.
- Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Review system development, change management, data management, access controls, and disaster recovery processes.
- Identify technology-related risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support investigations into IT incidents where required.
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations for management action.
- Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to promote a strong control environment.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned.
